INSECURITY
INSECURITIES
HAVE THE ABILITY TO SHAPE AND MOLD OUR MINDS; TO MAKE US SEE ONLY THE BAD
THINGS ABOUT OURSELVES. EVERYONE HAS
THEM. WE SEE OUR FLAWS AND FOCUS ONLY ON
THEM. WOULDN’T LIFE BE BETTER IF WE ALL
LEARNED TO OVERCOME OUR INSECURITIES AND FOCUS ON WHAT WE ENJOY ABOUT
OURSELVES? WE MUST LEARN TO OVERLOOK OUR
EXAGGERATED NEED FOR ACCEPTANCE AND APPROVAL.
WE MUST EMBRACE THE FACT THAT WE ARE ALL UNIQUE AND SPECIAL IN OUR OWN
WAYS. ACCEPT YOURSELF JUST THE WAY YOU
ARE.
If my work were chosen, I would like to have it shown in the AltSpace Gallery. For the gallery, I would include photos of peoples' insecurities and photos of peoples' strengths. The "insecurity" photos are shot in black and white to provide a melancholy/dismal feeling and the "strength" photos are shot in color to provide a more happy/cheerful feeling.
All photos were shot in the studio on the white wall, which creates a "floating" effect. One of the walls will have a large 18’’ x 24’’ print of a group photo. The other walls will have the "insecurity" and "strength" photos laid out in a grid pattern, alternating between insecurity and strength.
Below are some examples of my work that would be displayed in the show.
